Ingredients that deserve their own mention

I have fallen in love. For anybody out there who enjoys the flavours of Spain, this is possibly the most amazing investment you could possibly make. It is as if they have jarred the essence of chorizo, in an impossibly difficult-to-open pot that looks ever so lovely in your kitchen. I give you La Chinata, paprika but not as you know it.

I have only recently been introduced to this wonder, and I dare say you can find other brands and makes equally as awe inspiring...but my goodness have I never truly realised the impact the quality of a spice can have.

Bucatini

Booker what? I hear you say. Bucatini, (pronounced bookateeny) is possibly my favourite type of pasta. Wiggly worm-like pasta straws that get the sauce caught up in the central capillary that are impossible to eat or serve delicately.  Oh look, there’s a picture!

Shhh! Cheat's Ingredients

I have another little confession, I don't often make my own stock. I know I'm supposed to using roast chicken carcasses and leftover bones and stuff but I have tried and though I do get  a pleasing result it is just such a cafuffle. I usually go with Knorr stock pots which are really fantastic (although fairly salty so don't add your usual amount) and of course for chicken soup (and if I can't afford stock pots) nothing beats Telma kosher chicken stock.
